Housing Stabilization TrainingHST

This is the complete learner-facing Housing Stabilization Training curriculum — all eight topics — open for organizations, providers and community partners evaluating its use.

Why it exists

People entering housing need structured, practical education in how a lease-based home works. Frontline staff often do not have the capacity to deliver that level of education consistently. HST gives the organization a repeatable way to close that gap — the same teaching, in English and Spanish, for every household, every time.

Eight topics

Each topic takes roughly 8–12 minutes and ends with a realistic situation to think through.

  1. From Homelessness to Housing
  2. Understanding Your Lease
  3. Rent and Money
  4. Guests and Other People
  5. Neighbors and Conflict
  6. Protecting Your Housing
  7. Talking to Your Landlord
  8. Taking Care of the Home

How it is built

Mobile-first and readable on a phone. Every lesson is available as text and as recorded audio, in English and Spanish, with transcripts. No account is needed by the person learning; staff use an access link.

Access to HST

Sign-in is for authorized staff at licensed organizations — the people who assign the training and issue access links. Learners never sign in: a link from a housing worker opens the assigned training and nothing else.

Tell us about your organization, the people you serve and how you would use HST. We will follow up about licensing and implementation.

HST can be incorporated across different housing and service workflows, including pre-housing preparation, move-in support, tenancy stabilization, discharge planning, and ongoing case management.
